If it's like the regular netduma router you can still play with them. But to add new friends you need to turn off the geofilter first then add them then turn it back on.

By default, the range setting is set to a really large area.. and that function isn't even turned on by default. You have the option to specify the radius you want to allow it to connect to. Generally, I've found it to work properly, but occasionally you'll run into an ISP whose IPs aren't 100% recognized properly, so you have little to no connectivity. I mostly ran into this issue, when I started getting a bit more obscure with my radius settings. Unless you're planning on getting super tight with what you allow, you should have no problems.

There is also something called Spectating Mode which does not block radius(local settings) which works well for PC games. You also have the option of going into the Geo-Filter Map settings and turning off strict mode. If you turn that off, it would connect to a server outside of your filter range. Finally, you can also whitelist other connections as well. So you can click on a connection on the map and always allow it.
