Yes. Disconnect power to both devices, make connections, turn on modem first and after all light are on, power up router. You still need to call cable to have the modem registered first.

I anm using this with an Arris modem from RCN, and it works just fine.

I have the Arris Surfboard SB6141 and my nighthawk router works just fine with it.

Yes, this will work with ARRIS cable modems.
