A:AnswerYes it is, however the router says is capable of speeds of up to 1.3GB and I am not seeing that even though my modem is kicking out those speeds. I would not buy a Netgear product. They have very poor tech support
A:AnswerI used my ipad to set this up, but it actually recommends a phone in the instructions. All you have to do is go to the app store, download the app for the netgear router and then when the router finds the internet, it will automatically start the app and walk you through the setup. Super easy, you don't need a computer.
A:AnswerNo. It does not work unless you have a coax cable for your dsl. With a phone line like ATT uses, it won't work. The other people saying it will are not correct for this model of the nighthawk- the R7000. The D7000 does work for ADSL etc. Those other answers really caused our family some heartache and frustration all to find out the answers were sadly mistaken but there is a different netgear you can get just different numbers- D7000 is okay with ATT DSL not this one.
A:AnswerYou will need a modem. You can buy one as long as it is compatible with your internet provider or you can rent one from your internet provider.
A:AnswerI believe so. There are different ways to setup the two routers which is explained in the manual. I use the ac1900 as an access point to boost the signal of my main router.
A:AnswerThis is not a modem/router combo. It is only a router. You can use this with a docsis 3.0 modem and it will work fine for all your wireless needs.
A:AnswerAny service is fine I have att and it works. You must have a modem of course. If you have a modem and router as one device just connect and follow instructions. Very easy set up on my smartphone.
