Would this work in rural area null

Sd this is used to expand the ports on a internet connected device such as a home router. Most routers only have 2 to 3 ports. It essentially expands the number of connections (ports) on the back of the internet router.

This will work anywhere there is power so yes, you can use it in a rural area. You might be confused on what this device does. This device is an Ethernet switch, not a router or wireless access point. It does not have any wireless capabilities in it. You need to hard wire Ethernet cables from your computing devices to this switch.

It is a switch that prioritizes bandwidth from your internet provider to a gaming console (port 1) and streaming device like Apple TV on port 2. The other 6 connections are for your other devices. If you are rural and are getting slower speeds, this may not help you gain anything inside.
