Bug you will need to have a direct Ethernet (wired) connection from your home router to the Netgear NightHawk S800 Switch. It has no wireless capabilities. If that can be accomplished, then yes this will help with lag on your local network. The QoS and VLAN settings on the switch can then be configured to isolate or make the Playstation Gaming Console the preferred device on your household LAN.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It would help only if it is replacing the original hardware causing any existing lag, inserting new equipment into a laggy network won't fix lag issues. This item prioritizes traffic to port 1 of the device, so the game console would need to be directly wired to port 1.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need to run network cable from the router to this switch. Yes the Playstation will connect to the switch and the switch to the router. This may or may not help with lagging depending if the lag is caused by your internal network or an issue with the ISP or plan you have.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The switch won't add.any speed if the PlayStation is already hardwired to the modem. This device just give you additional.ports.for ethernet connections. If you were going to hardwire the PlayStation.and your router was already full, then this might be the.way to go. Short answer is if you are using WiFi to connect.currently and you need more ports so you can run a wire to the PlayStation, this will allow you to do so.
