Wi-fi signals are dependent of your ISP ( Internet Service Provider ) not the hardware sold in stores. Check with your cable company and find out the download speed and upload speed of your current package you subscribed to. Keep in mind most streaming services such as Nextflix and Hulu ect.ect. will offer HD content which requires a much faster internet connection than standard definition. So to keep this from getting too technical. If your ISP is providing you with 25Mbps. download speed this should be more than enough for Streaming 4K , HD content and video games being played online should not have any latency. Keep also in mind that some games require you to connect to a Games Dedicated Server and by doing so causes latency because of STRESS being put on a congested server and you will experience slow down and crashes because of their technical short comings not your internet. So... if you want to increase your wi-fi signal : NO this is not the product for you. The S8000 is just a SWITCH to connect multiple devices that require ethernet connections. You should look for a ROUTER to better pair with your modem. But keep in mind most cable modems already have a router included or built in now days. You might also check into MESH routers like the NETGEAR Orbi to extend your Wi-fi coverage in rooms that are too far from the cable modem to reach a good signal. Hope that helps.
