I have a 2550 square foot home. Router and cable modem in a room centrally located on the second floor. We live on the first floor with MBR and great room. We stream simultaneously to 2 tv's at one time but usually one is running at one time using Directvnow. I also have Arlo cameras located outside the home and they pick up a great picture. 2 desktops, ethernet connected, 2 laptops wireless, Service from Spectrum is 400 mps. Service from cable modem to router exceeds that 400 mps subscription. Cable modem is supplied by Spectrum. Laptop speed to first floor is 180, 000 mps and upload is 23.5 mps. In all we have 20 devices connected to this router either wired or wireless including 18 gigs of storage. First floor TV connected by a Netgear Powerline Adapter via ether net from Roku to Powerline Adapter is 86 to 100mps. Great, clear service. Don't know about being out in the backyard as we function in the house and cameras are attached to the house.. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't believe you will have success such as you are looking for. Perhaps adding a NetGear Mesh repeater (range extender will work). This is my second R9000 after the first died approximately 1 year after putting it into service. This particular router running now doesn't seem to have the range of the previous one although it is installed in the same location and no other changes in the house (not even furniture moved), so there seems to be some unexplainable variability from router to router. On this one, 5G can't be used across the room while I could use 5G on the last one upstairs in guest bedrooms to stream Netflix and Amazon Prime without a problem. If I find a good solution, I will update a review.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It all depends on walls and distance. This router has the best range for anything I've used but it isn't a miracle worker. Back side of the house I can easily get 50 ft away from the house and still get a signal but it is going through 2 walls and 20ft through the house. Front yard is one wall and I can easily do 100+ feet. I have a normal sized single story house and I can reach full bars anywhere in it compared to my old router(Surfboard) that couldn't broadcast to the farthest point in the house at all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.First have to say Love this Router! Like any Wireless Router you are limited by the material it has to go through (sheet rock, metals, brick). So depending on that you may or may not need an extender. I have one as like you my router is on one side of my house and coverage was not great outside on the other side of the house. The extender I purchased and works great with this router is NETGEAR Nighthawk X6 AC2200 Tri-Band WiFi Mesh Extender. Also with Wi-Fi signals a tip is if you have a 2 story home make sure you place the router on the second story. Wi-Fi signal like to travel down not up as far.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It’s going to depend on the size of your house. I’ve had mine for over a month and I get good speeds inside and outside. My house is a 1 level 1800 square feet. Hope this helps!
