Short answer, you don't. I assume you have cable internet service? Most cable companies I know of use DOCCIS cable modems. So, to actually answer your question, you need to acquire a cable modem (check your ISP for details) then once you are on your ISPs network you plug the modem into this router's WAN port via an Ethernet cable. Both of these devices should configure themselves. Then just follow the directions that come with the router to set it up specifically for your network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have cable Internet service you have to have Modem that supports your internet provider (Time Warner, Cox, etc). Then you can use an ethernet cable to connect to the Nighthawk Router. You cannot connect cable directly to the router.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It sounds like you are trying to plug a coaxial cable into this device. You'll need a cable modem to connect to the internet. An Ethernet cable will connect from the modem to the router. Your router will distribute the internet amongst your devices, but your modem will provide the internet connection.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You would need to buy a cable modem make sure it's at least a 8x speed ratings or when u get your Internet service you should have just rented a modem from who ever is providing your Internet service

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don't. Either it is a BNC Ethernet/DECnet/TokenRing cable (unlikely unless you have time traveled) , or you are talking about the RG6/Co-Axial Cable connector coming out of the wall for your cable modem. This device does not have capabilities of a cable modem. You would either need to use the provided cable modem from your Cable provider or to purchase a standalone cable modem.
