“I have a Cisco router/modem in one device that cox cable gave to me when I got internet with them. How would I set this router up? Just totally unplug the device I have now or connect this router to the router modem”

You would need to reach out to Cox and have them disable the router function, if possible. The X8 IS NOT a cable modem. You still need to Cable Modem, and then a connection from the cable modem to this router
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You would set this up as the router, wired/wireless ,and run it through your existing modem. You would then turn off the wireless functions on your existing modem so it doesn't interfere with the new router. It will explain all this in the setup process for the router which is pretty simple.
