This device isn't a wifi extender. It allows you to use an wired Ethernet connection in a remote location. So if your converter has an Ethernet connection, you could connect one end of this to your router and the other one to an outlet near your converter and plug the Ethernet cable into it.

I use these adapters all the time to connect the solar monitoring device (which is usually outside or in a garage) to the internet router that is typically inside the house. These units work well for that application. I have used it in distances about 300 feet and works well too.
