I didn't try that but I don't think this will work for a regular phone line. This has only Ethernet connections from the cable modem to the sending unit and from the receiving unit to the smart TV.

I don't think so, unless the phone line connects with an Ethernet cable. I think this would only work with Internet operated devices. I would ask someone at Best Buy anyway just to be sure.

No this will only provide an ethernet connection to another part of the house if connected to a modem with one.

This only connects with Ethernet cables and not phone cords which are a slightly different size.
