“My wireless internet router is on opposite side of house from my wired cameras/DVR which works on Ethernet cable only. Can this be used to connect the “Ethernet only” security DVR to my wireless router?”

This unit is Ethernet only and puts the signal through your home wiring. If your home wiring is in good shape it should be plug and play. My wiring goes through a sub panel off of the main breaker box and I still get 53 - 54 Mbps through the adapters on a connection that gives me 92 - 94 right at the router.
