This product is not outdoor rated. Best Buy warned me about heat/cold other weather conditions affecting the device when I was considering placing it on my covered porch. You might want to look for a range extender or power extender that is outdoor rated. If you do use it provide it some protection at least from precipitation. But I don't know what you could do about hot and cold whether, except find a device built for the outdoors.
