No because the unit comes with 2 plugs that have to be installed into the wall. The one by the router( or in your case the USB ) needs to have an Ethernet cable . The other plug, plugs into the wall where you are having signal issues. So unless your USB adapter is stationary and has a port to hook up the Ethernet cable. No this would not work
