It depends upon how far away the house is in relation to where you set up the router. This router does have very good range, but if signal is weak you could purchase a range extender and put that in Grandmas house to boost the signal from your router

I have been able to connect to mine while visiting my neighbor but that is only 2 houses down from my home but I have never measured the distance either. The best way to find out is to disconnect your device from the WiFi, go to your grandmother's house and then turn it back on to see if your device will pick it up. If you are able to connect from there, it is likely that it will be a successful connection for her also depending on the device she is using.
