Yes, just make sure that your extender is in the middle from where your actual router located and then you should get the signa.l
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depending on your home and the material/type of walls, I would assume it would work, or at least pull in a decent connection if not 100%. If your home has drywalls, it should definitely work because the signal will shoot right through it without a problem. However, if you have an older house with steel, concrete, cemented walls, you may have a bit of an issue. You want to place the extender within a decent range (usually the fair middle point) between your actual router as well as where you want the connection to pull to. If you have the extender far from your router you'll have the same issue you're having with whatever you're trying to connect upstairs or downstairs in the basement because it'll be too far to grab a good connection. If this doesn't work for you, you can always search for "Power over Ethernet" it will come with 2 outlet boxes that both plug into your wall outlet and communicate with each other, this allows a "hard wired or landline connection" rather than trying to pick up a wireless connection. One box plugs into your router via an ethernet cable and plugs into the wall, the other box plugs into your tv, gaming console, or computer (whatever you're trying to connect) via an ethernet cable and plugs into the wall, once both pieces are communicating a light will bling then become solid, that's when you would press and hold the secure buttons on them and secure the connection between the two pieces. Good luck! =) Luckily though, you can always purchase the item(s) and keep your receipt to return item(s) if needed. :) Hope this helps!
