• No. The only way to save anything is buying a service plan and those are limited to 250 MB and 500 MB. This is not a system that records constantly. Only quick 90 second videos when motion is detected or snapshots, depending on setting preferences.

• No. The camera does not operate unless you are actually viewing it remotely or you have it set to record pictures/short video with the motion sensor feature. The pictures/video the camera recrords is stored in a cloud and you access it via a netgear account that you set up after purchase. Basics are free, but to add more than 2 cameras there is a fee. You can google viewzone and see all that is involved.
