• A:Answer I use this router with the TP-Link - BE11000 Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender RE655BE and it works great. Most extenders are designed to be plugged in and configured to use an existing wireless bands to connect to your router. But I chose the TP-Link because it has a 2.5Gbps LAN port so I connect over cat6 to one of theBE9300's 2.5Gbps LAN ports and maximize the speed. That preserves full throughput on all bands 2.4, 5, and 6MHz (for your iphone 16 users) for your wireless network since it doesn't have to share one in order to connect to the router. You put the extender in Access Point mode so that wireless users can move around without having to switch from SSID to SSID. But you don't have to. You can simply plug it in and set it up to communicate with the router over one of the wireless bands.

Q: QuestionCan this router be accessed from a web browser (192.168.1.1) using Admin & Password as the login credentials during setup. I am not a fan of the Nighthawk app at all.

• A:Answer Yes. The Netgear UI seems like it's pretty standard. Basic and Advanced tabs. Basic Tab houses a Home or Landing page, and Internet, Wireles, Attached Devices, ReadySHARE, and Guest Network pages. The Advanced tab houses a Home page, Setup Wizard, Setup, ReadySHARE, Security, Administration and Advanced Setup.

• A:Answer The Netgear UI has an ADVANCED > Setup > Wireless Setup where you can change the channel. Each band has a section. So you can go to the 5GHz section and look for the Channel: drop-down. It has a list of all the Wi-Fi channel numbers within the 5GHz band. It's set to Auto by default but you can change it e.g., 36, 40, 44. 48 etc. The highest channel I see is 177. There is also a Mode drop-down so you can adjust the maximum Wi-Fi standard and channel width the radio will use. When I looked for this router, it's defaulted to Up to 2.9GHz which means 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) or 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) features, and Wide channels (e.g., 160 MHz in 5 GHz). If you lower the mode (e.g., “Up to 0.4 Gbps”), the router may limit itself to Wi-Fi 4/5 compatibility, narrower channels, or fewer streams.
