Most Night Owl DVR/NVRs can accommodate larger hard drives. See your product Specifications for the max size. Our DVR/NVRs are compatible with internal SATA HDD's, 2.5" or 3.5". The HDD should have a minimum of 7200 RPM. We are not able to guarantee compatibility with external hard drives at this time. The cameras are not intended to be more than 300ft line of sight from the recorder. Thank you for choosing Night Owl!
