“Can this cable be used as an extender? meaning can I hook it up to my existing cable to make a longer reach? Or does it have to be hooked directly to the dvr?”

• Yes you can do that, however you need a BNC double male adapter to connect the video cable part of the 2 cables (the red one is power). Make sure the adapter is included
