These cameras are wired. They don't use wifi. You are able to connect them to internet for long distance viewing though.

Night Owl systems are able to be locally monitored via TV/monitor without the need for an internet connection.

This is a wired system meaning the cameras are wired directly to the dvr. The only reason this uses wifi is for remote viewing

Samsung has a system that uses cables and wired cameras. the cables that come in the kit are 60' long. the nightowl cables are 100' long and will work with the Samsung cameras and dvr. the quality of the view is good, altho I wish I had a camera with the ability to actually zoom in . the cameras that come with these systems do not have an actual zoom function, but uses a digital enlargement of the pictures to imitate a zoom, which usually results in a degraded picture.
