What happens if power goes out? null

It will be just like if you unplugged the unit. Nothing will be recorded until power is reapplied. Then it will go through its normal boot and sync with the cameras. Once a camera is sync'ed your will start recording video again. For playback, there will just be a gap in time from when the power was out. You could put a UPS on the DVR and on the individual camera power and it would continue operating ... until the UPS died.

Your cameras go out unless you have backup power.

I have not had this happen yet but I would assume that unless you have a power backup that when the power goes out the cameras will shut off.
