The Night Owl wireless cameras do not require a router to connect to the WNVR, the WNVR will creates its own wireless signal to connect with the cameras. You may connect the WNVR to a monitor/tv in order to view the live feed from the cameras. If you would like to view the feed from your computer, you will require a wired internet connection and our Night Owl Software, on your computer, in order to view the cameras. They have a chart showing how strong the signal would be if you are going to use it in Concrete walls, steel or any other structure. You will need a monitor using VGA Cable or HDMI to watch it... you cannot use it on a laptop without a router. Because you need Internet to stream it.
