Good Afternoon Mike, these Night Owl Cameras will require a hard wire connection for power. However, we provide you with a power adapter for each camera so you may power the cameras locally. All you do is mount the cameras to your designed choosing, and that's it. That's all you have to do. The DVR hook up is easy too. Once you install the simple DVR to whatever (computer...t.v. monitor, WiFi, etc...it's all ready to go. If you connect a monitor..this could be a flat screen t.v. also if you choose, then you will automatically see your cameras locations that you've placed. It's a very easy and simple system, and everything's self explanatory..and it works great! I hope this helped. Thank you.
