No it is not. It needs to be plugged into an outlet. There are 2 plugs for it, one for the 4 cameras (will need to add another if adding more than the 4 cameras) and one for the DVR itself. You can add a back up battery for it in case the power goes out, but that will last you maybe a half hour without power going to it. The camera wire and power for the camera run in the same cable.
