QuestionDoes the system record 24/7 or is there a way to only have it record when motion is detected? If it does record 24/7, how long with data from 8 cameras be saved on the DVR before it is overwritten?

- Answer The system we bought came with 8 - 60 feet cables. We bought two 100 cables extensions that has a connector to extend the 60 foot. This meet our needs for the installation.

QuestionI know there are 3 modes as 24/7, motion, and time frame. I suppose in the 24/7 mode it will replace the oldest video when the storage were full. Can I set to replace the non-motion videos first, not 'erase' the motion videos?

- Answer to answer your specific question - No on the "time lapse first to erase". when the drive fills the oldest gets replaced. so you always have the most recent events- motion or 24x7.

- Answer No, the cameras included with your system are not waterproof (meaning they cannot be submerged under water). However, all Night Owl cameras are weatherproof (meaning they can withstand dirt, debris, and jets of water). If you will be placing your cameras outside, Night Owl strongly recommends placing them under an eave or awning to maximize their life span. If you leave them too exposed to the elements, they will only last a short time. For more information please contact Night Owl Technical Support. Please check your manual for more information. Questionhow to turn off the LED lights at light? it reflects back to the cameras at night ( put next to the window ) is there a way to schedule it to turn it off? i need to turn it off. i can not find the answer from the night owl website thx Jason

- Answer The led's turn on in relation to the ambient light. you need to put the camera outside. Cant look through the glass, it reflects the illuminator leds back to the camera lens.

- Answer 1. No, it is not dual voltage, but you can always purchase an adapter for that purpose. 2. Yes, it can be connected to more than one monitor. HDMI splitter is required. 3. It doesn't need Internet to work, however if your purpose is for remote view, then Internet is required. 4. No, It doesn't require a professional for the installation.
