For the most part, yes. However, if you ever want to expand beyond 4 cameras you won't be able to with the 4 camera system since it only supports 4 total channels. I needed a 6 camera system and had to go with the 8 camera product since I couldn't expand the 4 camera version. All of the other specifications seem to be identical. One item to note, it uses its own wireless network not your home wireless network so placement of the DVR unit is very important to ensure you can receive a signal from all of your cameras. I'm still having an issue within one of my cameras not always showing up.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes but beware, if your wireless DVR goes out, you are not able to replace your wireless DVR. They do not sell replacement wireless DVR’s yet. I am stuck with eight cameras and no DVR.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the systems are different, only 4 cameras and 8 cameras can be connected respectively.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is the same unless the storage is different. This just supports 8 cameras. If the 4 channel is expandable, you can add cameras but the cost is about the same unless you want to do it over time.
