Is it compatible with d3100 & is it zoomable null

It is a prime lens which means it does not zoom.

The D3100 does not have a focus motor. It would require lenses that have a built-in focus motor. Nikon denotes these lenses with an AF-S designator. This means the lens has Nikon's Silent Wave Focus Motor built-in to it. It will be compatible with the D3100. It is a FIXED FOCUS lens, hence it does not zoom.
