• It requires 4 AA batteries. You can buy the rechargeable AA batteries, but I prefer Ni-Cad... I returned my camera because of this.

• It is battery operated with 4 AA batteries. The only option would be to get rechargeable batteries, but you'd still have to take them out to charge them.
