How many inches is the lens when it's fully extended? I'm wanting to buy a new camera for concerts and most places don't allow extended lenses over 6 inches... thank you!

The L840 lens when fully extended is 4.5 inches.

I don't have the camera with me thus i can't measure it, but it only extends a few inches; I would not consider it a camera with an "extended" lens. This is a digital camera with auto focus but does allow the user to do some manual focusing. I think it will work for concerts and over situations where those long extended lenses are prohibited.

As the COOLPIX L840 is a compact camera - when fully zoomed at full telephoto, the lens barrel extends out approximately 3 inches.
