How is the battery life? I've had a camera in the past that just basically ate my batteries. They would only last 15 minutes then I had to switch out.

Battery life with AA-type batteries will depend on the type of AA's you are using. AA Alkaline: 590 shots, AA Lithium: 1240 shots, EN-MH2: 740. In addition, if you are taking video, these battery life numbers will decrease as video takes a lot of processing power in the camera. It will drain the batteries quicker.

It does take standard AA batteries, but I would recommend investing in some high capacity rechargables. My 2500s last for hours.
