• The camera is made of a hard plastic material, like most all cameras. It's metallic purple color looks as if it could be metal, but it is plastic.

• The L840 camera body is made of a polycarbonate material.

• It is plastic. I was going to safary in a Jeep on uneven surfaces. Plastic body is not appropriate for safaries.
