Why was the release date pushed back? null

On Nikon website they're saying the p1000 is on backorder with no ETA

It was released on the 6th. They just sold out fast. Most places have them back ordered.

It was not I got mine on Sept 10th in hand. Preordered from Adorama in June. They ran out of the first run. A friend ordered in July and will not see his until late Oct
