The Nikon COOLPIX P610 digital camera is not compatible with any external microphone. The internal microphone covers normal range as well as a limited area at the telephoto zoom position. It also has a wind noise reduction option that can be switched on or off before recording which can reduce the sound of wind when it passes over the microphone.
