Q: QuestionWhy is there no separate battery charger? Nikon advises only to charge from wall socket & not USB ports on computers or in cars etc. How do other people recharge batteries when camera being consistently used?
Asked by Davo.
- A:Answer The COOLPIX W300 comes with the Nikon EH-73P/ EH-73PCH Charging AC adapter that is used to charge the supplied EN-EL12 Lithium-ion battery while it’s in the camera. The W300 also has a Charge by Computer setting which will charge the battery in-camera while the camera is connected to a computer via USB. Charge by Computer is enabled by default but can be disabled through the Setup Menu. Nikon’s MH-65 Battery Charger is available as a separate accessory for those who wish to charge the battery outside of the camera.

Q: QuestionHow do I set the image size/dimensions to a screen width. The photos I've taken are not full screen width.
Asked by Maryanne.
- A:Answer The COOLPIX W300’s default image size for still photos is 4608x3456 which has an aspect ratio (ratio of horizontal to vertical) of 4:3. This is a standard aspect ratio for still photos. A 16:9 aspect ratio is a better match for wider TV screens and monitors and can be achieved by changing your Image Mode setting. To do this go to the camera's Shooting Menu, Navigate to Image Mode, then select the option for 4608x2592. Since Movies are shot in the 16:9 aspect ratio this image size is a good choice for images that will be added to movies. However, if you plan to print images later then this is not a good choice since standard photo print sizes are not this wide. In addition, changing to this image size reduces your resolution from approximately 16 MP to approximately 12MP.
