Q: QuestionDoes the camera have adjustable shutter speed while recording video? If so, what is the range of it?
Asked by Gene.
- A:Answer When the Nikon D3500 DSLR camera is in mode M and Manual movie settings has been switched to "ON", adjustments can be made to shutter speed and ISO sensitivity. Shutter speed can be set to values as fast as 1/4000 S; the slowest speed available varies with the frame rate. 1/30s for frame rates of 24p, 25p, and 30p, 1/50 for 50p, and 1/60 s for 60p. If shutter speed is not in this range when live view starts, it will automatically be set to a supported value, and remain at this value when live view ends. Q: QuestionCan you use a hard cable to a Chromebook to transfer photos?
Asked by Lane.
- A:Answer I've used a mini USB cable to transfer photos to my PC, so as long as the computer supports USB I would expect that would work. The camera has to be powered on for the computer to see the memory.

Q: QuestionDoes this camera have an optical zoom?
Asked by Mooch.
- A:Answer No, the Nikon D3500 does not have an optical zoom. However, lenses such as the AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens have an adjustable focal length, allowing you to zoom in and out. For shooting subjects that are further away, you may want to consider purchasing another lens with a longer focal length.
