• the more expensive one has digital controls and the less priced one has manual controls and the higher priced has a thermometer.

• The 6 in 1 10 qt for $229 has more features, the one I bought the wife is dz550 it has a probe to put in any meat to cook medium rare to well

• When I did a side-by-side comparison, the other model stated material was stainless steel and plastic while this one stayed only plastic. This might be the reason?
