• If you put water in the processor or blender with cabbage, it will get mushy. If you want to shred cabbage, use a food processor with a shred attachment, a grater, or chop it on a cutting board with a sharp knife.

• I haven’t done cabbage, but I shredded a whole bag of Brussels sprouts to use for coleslaw and it did just fine with nothing else in there.

• When you add water to products you end up with more of a puree than a shredded product with a blender. You need a food processor for shredding.
