The 4 in 1 has more features than the 3 in 1. It has a lever to make a “perfect” tamp, a hot water option for Americanos, it can do a single shot, versus on the 3 in 1 it’s either double or quad shots. Pretty much you’re paying for the extra options. I have the 3 in 1, and as much as I’d like those new features, I probably would use them to be spending that much more money.

Ninja revised The EU version (220v) by adding a hot water button (to the left of the big dial, like the "Pro" version). So far they didn't revise the US version so you have to buy the Pro for $699 to have hot water. They legitimized the price tag by internalizing the tamper and adding a couple of other things.

It gives you everything the ES601 does—espresso, drip, and cold brew—plus some serious upgrades: a dedicated hot water dispenser for tea and Americanos, an integrated tamper for perfect espresso pucks, more drink and froth options, a hands-free frother with a bigger milk jug, and smart weight-based dosing for precision. Basically, it’s built for anyone who wants the full café experience at home.
