• Hello Jenn, We do apologze, but the Ninja® Mega Kitchen System® does not have any pre-set blending programs. With this being said, when creating smoothies using the single serve cups, you would use the Single Serve button in short pulses for best results. When using the 72oz Pitcher or the 64oz Processor bowl, you will need to stop the blend manually. We hope this information helps. The Customer Support Team

• You have to hold down. But press and release it multiples times or the machine will overheat.

• This Ninja model does not have a Smoothie button. However, you can pulse a few times to make sure all the frozen fruits are chopped, then hit the blend button of your choice and walk away. It will not stop automatically, if that is what you are asking. You control the length of time it blends.
