• The cup that holds the coffee grounds is plastic, as is the water dispenser in the lid, and the lid of the carafe. I have not detected any objectionable plastic taste.

• Water must be placed in the resivoir tank, which I believe is a form of plastic. However though not part of your question, that section doesn't become heated.
