What do the amiibo do in-game? null

They will probably give you the octo expansion agent 8 gear. But I’m not 100% sure due to the fact that Nintendo hasn’t said anything about it. but the Japanese Nintendo page did show the spy gear and octoling boy wearing the male agent 8 suit and the octoling girl wearing the agent 8 female clothing. But I don’t know about the spy gear.

the figures give you a amiibo character. you place it on the controller then, you can then play as them or see if your friends can beat your amiibo.

Grants DLC also makes your desk Pop with passion

So, basically they unlock exclusive items in game and each amibo has different unlockable things like a squid amiibo giving you armor.
