A: No this just gives you outfits to wear in-game.
Q: What do the amiibo do in-game?
A: They will probably give you the octo expansion agent 8 gear. But I’m not 100% sure due to the fact that Nintendo hasn’t said anything about it. but the Japanese Nintendo page did show the spy gear and octoling boy wearing the male agent 8 suit and the octoling girl wearing the agent 8 female clothing. But I don’t know about the spy gear.
