The microSD Express is a new technology that has not been widely adopted. Samsung only started selling those in 2024 and the Nintendo version only comes in 256 GB. SamDisk has a 512GB version. Up until now there was no market for these. Few devices accept the speeds of these, and because of a change in pins, in devices that do not read them it is instead read as a UHS-I, meaning that in those devices it is slower than a UHS-II or UHS-III while being more expensive. So, since not a lot of products accept the Express cards, few users would want these. That will probably change now that Switch 2 created a market for them.
