• Both. It has an adhesive built in, but the MagSafe is the way it grips so firmly.

• Our grip uses adhesive assist, so it should be compatible with an otterbox case as long as it is not silicone or heavily textured! It does have MagSafe patterned magnets, but still requires the adhesive to be secure

• It comes with two-way tape already applied, but I have mine magnetically attached.
