QuestionIs it capable of voice-to-print or voice-to-type?Some really nice digital recorders have software either built in or it's available to be loaded onto it, wherein you can record your work, then hook it up to your laptop, open up Word, & then the recorder will automatically type the work onto your Word document.

QuestionDoes this make any sound before, after, or during the time it is recording?I would like to use it in my class but I don't know if it makes a sound when recording. I do not want to bother the class by having a beeping sound or any other sound.

- Answer This recorder records in MP3 and WMA file types. If you need a WAV I suggest looking at a LS-7, LS-10 or LS-11.

QuestionWhy will the machine come on but not play?The recorder power and screen will come on but appears frozen. It will not play or record and the function keys will not change anything. Why? .

- Answer The Hold switch may be locked on the side of the recorder. This prevents the recorder's battery from being drained accidentally. Please slide this switch to power the device on. If this is unsuccessful or you have additional question, please contact us at 888-553-4448.

- Answer Recordings (files) can be deleted whenever you no longer need them. You can also download files to a PC to save them.

- Answer The recordings are downloaded directly. Simply copy the files onto your computer then right click on the thumbnail and rename.

- Answer This recorder cannot be used with an AC adapter. The battery life is approximately 51 hours with alkaline AAA batteries.

- Answer The mic input will most likely pick up a hum from the sound board. This function requires a line in jack, that offers a higher voltage range. The LS-10 and LS-11 offer line in jacks. Connecting the VN-8100PC to a sound board is not recommended.

- Answer The VN-8100PC does not require or include software. The device is a mass storage device enabling direct downloads and the files are non proprietary.
