QuestionDoes it have voice activation recording.

- Answer Yes it has voice activated recording but the clip on the back breaks easily. If your not going to carry it on you in s pocket it might hold up.

QuestionHow many hours can I leave the device on? Will it last over a 3 or 4 day period?

- Answer I have kept the recorder on for more than 10 hours but kept it on its hold setting. On this setting, while concealed, I could easily click it up to begin recording and again click the tiny switch down to stop. Between records it just remains on hold and I assume reserves power. It also records for hours at a time. I don’t know how I ever lived with out this product.

QuestionMy VP 10 device records accurately, but there has been a problem lately. Whenever I press the metal record button it starts to record but it ends the recordIng too soon (after a few seconds) and then starts a new recording . How can I fix it.

- Answer No This is not designed for recording directly to a computer. You will need one of our higher end Dictation Recorders such as the DS-2600

QuestionWith voice activation activated I imagine it keeps recording until the voices are no long active? Then does it just stay paused until it picks up voices again? Does it stop and start on its own is what I am asking. Thanks.

- Answer Yes, however If it does not detect sound for more than 1 Hr it will end the recording and shutdown

- Answer NO The recorder cannot convert Audio to Text. NO Olympus Recorder have this functionality. It would require 3rd party software.

QuestionThe device comes with a USB extension cable. I'd like a second cable for travel. The manual warns against using any other manufacturer's cable, but there seems to be no source for Olympus' cable, which another catalog says WAS model KP19. Alternative?
