“The monitor I have cannot run at 144 hz even though i have it at the fastest setting it still isn't at 144 hz, both the monitor and my computer say it is only at 60. I don't know if its the monitor itself that's messed up or I am doing something wrong.”

• If you're referring to the hp omen, then you're not using the correct cord, and or your graphics doesn't apply the correct cord hookup. Hdmi 2.0 or up/or displayport is needed
