I hear ya about the stress caused by fussing with apps. The unit has a very clear display. I read it right off and jot it on a sheet of paper, or enter it into my iphone health app. It's an extra step, but such a tiny one I don't mind. And it has the bonus of not exposing your private information to the company, and whoever they decide to share it with.
