• I would recommend bare arm to get clean result.

• Preferably without clothes. That is the standard of practice in checking a BP. The machine needs to feel your pulse to measure an accurate BP.

• I use mine over my tee shirt sleeve and I initially double checked my reading with a cuff unit and yes the readings were very close. Within 2 to 4 points each time so I will say yes it’s okay to take readings over clothes.

• I got more accurate readings on my bare arm. Got an error even with only a corner of a sleeve stuck under the cuff!
